Docapesca will carry out improvement works at the Santa Luzia fish sales point, in the municipality of Tavira, which will include, among other works, the removal of the fiber cement covering.
According to the public company, the fiber cement tiles, which contain asbestos, a substance that can cause cancer, will be replaced by naturocement tiles.
The works also include «the painting of the building and the replacement of gates, doors, glass, mosquito nets, fixed frames, gutters, profiles, staves, fittings and hardware».
All this will be done without having to interrupt the activity of this post, which in 2019 «about 324 tons of fish», with «natural incidence on the common octopus», which represented «sales in the amount of 2,22 million euros »
The competition for this work is currently open and has a base price of 28 thousand euros. The period of execution of the work is 50 days.
