The Chamber of Faro guaranteed this afternoon that the trees that were taken from Largo da Sé they have not been 'cut or removed for slaughter' and are being treated so that they can return to the public space.

In clarification sent to the Sul Informação, following the news published by our newspaper, the Chamber of Faro guarantees that the six orange trees were not cut, "having only been removed from the site, after a technical report, for treatment, as they were identified as being in poor condition".

According to the municipality, the trees "will soon be relocated to the public space, if this treatment takes effect."

Six orange trees were uprooted in Largo da Sé, in Faro, where, starting today, the “F Nights” concerts will take place which deserved criticism from the Glocal citizens group Faro, on social and opposition networks.

Questioned by Sul Informação on whether the cutting down of trees was related to the realization of “F Nights”, the mayor assured that “it wasn't exactly for that reason. I had asked for an intervention to be carried out in the square, with the cleaning of the orange trees, which were full of dry wood and were removed in this context».
