Decision was taken at a Chamber meeting on August 12th

The Cumeadas Association – Association of Forest Owners of Cumeadas do Baixo Guadiana will receive 13 thousand euros from the Alcoutim Council, to develop actions to protect and prevent forest fires.

The decision was taken at a Chamber meeting, on August 12, and the funds should be invested «in preventive forestry actions, to reduce the risk of fires, fire surveillance actions and support to combat (first intervention, actions and surveillance after the aftermath), as well as awareness-raising actions among the populations, with the support of its Sapadores Florestais team».

Cumeadas «is a partner in the defense of the forest and its resources and in the management and planning of its territory», emphasizes the Alcoutim Chamber.

Headquartered in the village of Pereiro, Cumeadas «has as its intervention area the entire municipality of Alcoutim and two parishes in the municipality of Castro Marim (Azinhal and Odeleite).
