Protocol between RTA and the Wine Commission gives "new impetus" to Algarve wine tourism

Promoting wine tourism in the Algarve region is the main objective of a protocol that will be signed tomorrow, Thursday (23rd), at 17 pm, at the new premises of the Carvoeiro Tourism Office, in Lagoa, between the Algarve Tourism Region ( RTA) and the Algarve Wine Commission (CVA).

This agreement aims to give "new impetus" to the Algarve's wine tourism and boost this tourist product, associated with a sector "which has 30 producing farms and an increase in the area of ​​vines in recent years", according to the RTA.

«Promoting the Algarve wine region in the wider domestic market (Portugal and Spain), showing residents and tourists the quality of Lagos, Portimão, Lagoa and Tavira Denomination of Origin wines, is what the two regional entities intend to do», reinforces the same entity.

RTA also highlighted that «the primary demand for travel associated with gastronomy and wines has been growing at a rate of 5% to 8% per year and that the product is a complementary tourist offer to the traditional sun and sea in the Algarve, from according to the Strategic Marketing Plan for Tourism in the Algarve».
