Accentuating the palatial aura of this historic building was the objective of the extensive intervention that the Pestana Hotel Group carried out during the months of suspension of activity, at Pousada Palácio de Estoi, in this village in the municipality of faro.
The only “palace hotel” in the Algarve, which is part of the exclusive network of Small Luxury Hotels of the World, now reveals itself in all its splendor to provide a unique experience in the south of the country.
Characterized by the architectural and decorative richness resulting from the restoration of a 63th century palace, preserving its original elements, Pousada Palácio de Estoi has XNUMX rooms, French-style gardens, an outdoor swimming pool overlooking the sea and the mountains, and all XNUMXst century amenities.
The reception space is now located in the old Chapel, which, with its Louis XV aesthetic, is dedicated to the Holy Family. In collaboration with the Municipal Museum of Faro, the former reception will receive a new exhibition area that includes a museum center dedicated to the history of the region and its various influences: Roman, Islamic and classical.
The mix of Neoclassical, Neorococo and Art Nouveau styles is still visible in every corner of this Pousada, including the Salões, which now feature more classic furniture, a new color palette that harmonizes with the frescoes and two distinct languages in the two restaurant spaces, with the possibility of different use for lunch and dinner, as well as a new nationwide outdoors.
In the old kitchen of the palace, the Visconde Restaurant presents contemporary regional cuisine, guaranteeing all the flavor and authenticity characteristic of Pousadas de Portugal, which are also the largest national network of traditional Portuguese food restaurants. The restaurant is open by appointment only, service Take-Away and Room Service.
The rooms maintain their usual comfort, enhanced by abundant natural light and discreet decor.
In line with the guidelines of the health authorities, the Pestana Hotel Group has implemented an internal protocol of procedures with the objective of offering the best safety and hygiene conditions to guests and employees.
