DGS Bulletin says that Algarve has no new Covid-19 cases and assigns another 3 to Alentejo

Data from the epidemiological bulletin of this Thursday, June 11th

The Algarve today maintains the same number of accumulated cases of Covid-19 (391), while the Alentejo registers another 3, according to data from the epidemiological bulletin of the Directorate-General for Health (DGS) this Thursday, 11 June.

According to data from the DGS, since the beginning of the pandemic, the Algarve has the same 391 positive Covid-19 cases as yesterday. In Alentejo, the number rises to 277.

According to the DGS, the number of deaths in the Algarve remains at 15, which means that the death of a foreign citizen residing in Portimão, which is counted by the regional authority, has not yet been included in the national epidemiological bulletin.

In Alentejo, there is still only one death counted.

Nationally, the daily increase in the number of cases was 310, a number slightly higher than yesterday, which had been 294.

As for deaths, the DGS bulletin points to 7 more since yesterday's data. There are a total of 1504 deaths to be lamented across the country since the beginning of the pandemic.

In total, since the beginning of the pandemic, there have been 35.910 people infected with the new coronavirus, but 22.002 have already recovered, representing an increase of 260 new recoveries, compared to Wednesday.

 

By region, Lisbon and Vale do Tejo, which has accumulated 14161 cases since the beginning of the pandemic, was once again the area of ​​the country with the highest daily increase in the number of cases: 283.

The Secretary of State for Health has just said, at the usual press conference, that 90% of new cases are located in the region of Lisbon and Vale do Tejo, being practically restricted to five municipalities in the metropolitan area of ​​the capital.

In the North region, there were 19 new infected people and the accumulated total amounts to 17007 cases.

In addition to the 3 cases in Alentejo (which now totals 277 in accumulated numbers), there is still a new case to be registered in the Azores, which now adds up to 143.

In the Centre, Algarve and Madeira, this Thursday, no new cases were registered.

The number of cases admitted to hospitals decreased slightly compared to yesterday. There are now 415 people hospitalized due to Covid-19, 2 fewer than yesterday.

The number of intensive care patients remains at 70.

Also according to the epidemiological bulletin, there are 1562 people awaiting laboratory results and there are 30615 contacts under surveillance by health authorities.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, in Portugal, there have been a total of 345.495 suspected cases, but, of these, 308.023 were not confirmed.
