Aircraft today no longer have a reduced capacity

The Portuguese government has thus aligned national rules with European rules

The planes, as of today, no longer have the passenger capacity reduced to two thirds, but the use of a community mask is mandatory.

The Portuguese government thus aligned national rules with European rules regarding transport in civil aviation, considering "that a uniform European and international strategy is fundamental for the recovery of the sector and the confidence of passengers".

When it announced the measure, on May 21, the Government recalled that, at the international level, the set of sanitary measures to combat the Covid-19 pandemic in the air transport sector does not recommend the limitation of aircraft capacity.

Initially, the socialist executive had decreed a reduction in the number of passengers on the planes to two-thirds of their capacity.

Thus, as of today, Ordinance No. 106/2020, of 2 May, which imposed the limitation, is revoked.
