Summer starts tomorrow with forecast of very hot days

New season starts at 22:44

Summer starts tomorrow, June 20th, at 22:44, when the summer solstice occurs in the Northern Hemisphere. On this day, the Sun reaches the highest point in the sky (and spends more time above the horizon).

As the longest day of the year, the further north, the more hours of sunshine will be. So, tomorrow, the sun in Bragança rises at 5:52 am and sets at 21:05 pm, while in Porto it rises at 6:02 am and sets at 21:11 pm . In Coimbra, the day lasts from 06:04 am to 21:07 pm, in Lisbon from 06:12 am to 21:05 pm and in Faro from 06:12 pm to 20:55 pm.

In Funchal (Madeira archipelago), the sun rises at 07:00 and sets at 21:18. In Ponta Delgada (in the Azores), it starts at 06:21 am and sets at 21:08 pm.

To get the summer off to a great start, the weather forecast points to very hot days, which could reach 39 degrees Celsius next week in Alcoutim, usually the hottest land in the Algarve, or 40ºC in Serpa and 39ºC in Mértola, in Baixo Alentejo.
