From the 1st of June, rabies vaccination will be resumed in Silves. Vaccination is subject to prior appointment and takes place every weekday, from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm, at the Silves Official Collection Center (former kennel), located in the Municipality's Park of Machines and Vehicles, in Oliveira da Guerrilha, Silves.
Pet owners can also perform electronic identification (mandatory for vaccination purposes).
In addition to the animal's documents, holders of animals to be vaccinated/chipped must be accompanied by their Citizen's Card or, in its absence, by their Identity Card and taxpayer number, so that the collection receipt can be issued.
According to the Public Notice of the General Directorate of Food and Veterinary Medicine, vaccination is intended exclusively for dogs, excluding cats and ferrets.
The vaccination fee has a single value of 10 euros, which includes the placement of the transponder. In case it is necessary to carry out electronic identification, the act will not be charged, the amount being 2,50 euros, corresponding to the registration in the Companion Animal Information System (SIAC), supported by the Municipality of Silves.
Entry into the Official Collection Center in Silves is subject to compliance with the rules imposed by the DGS, by virtue of Covid-19, namely the mandatory use of a mask and compliance with the rules of respiratory etiquette and distance.
