The public kindergartens in the municipality of Silves will open on June 3, next Wednesday, two days after the date initially planned, "for security reasons", according to the Municipality of Silves.

The local authority decided to postpone the opening of these establishments so that "the COVID-19 tests can be carried out (including immunity) for employees and educators". a decision that was “articulated with the Silves and Silves Sul School Groups”.

«Despite the late guidance of the competent authorities in this matter, it does not identify Covid testing as indispensable and mandatory for the reopening of these spaces, the Municipality of Silves, with a view to safeguarding and ensuring that the process of reopening these establishments takes place within all safety standards, both for employees, children and guardians, decided to guarantee and support the costs of carrying out the tests for professionals in kindergartens, whose results will come out at the beginning of next week», explained the Chamber .

Deploring "the inconvenience caused by the extension of the reopening date of the county's public kindergartens", the municipality justifies them with the fact that it considers "it is of paramount importance to ensure that the return takes place in a climate of security and trust among all stakeholders'.
