The Interpretation Center of Vila do Bispo, the Museum of the Sea and Land of Carrapateira, the Municipal Museum of Archeology of Silves, and the Live Science Centers of the Algarve (Faro) and Tavira, reopen their doors next Sunday, June 1st, announced the Algarve Museum Network.
The next day, June 2, the Municipal Museum of Faro and the Algarve Regional Museum.
Meanwhile, the gradual reopening of the Algarve's museological structures has been taking place since 18 May, incidentally, International Museum Day.
On that date or in the following days, several museums and monuments in the Algarve were once again available for visits, namely the Research and Information Center of the Heritage of Cacela (Vila Real de Santo António), the Museums of Portimão and Traje (São Brás de Alportel ), from Loulé, Maritime Admiral Ramalho Ortigão (Faro), the Museum of Sacred Art of Monchique, the Fortress of Sagres, the Chapel of Our Lady of Guadalupe (Vila do Bispo), the Roman Ruins of Milreu (Faro) and also the Megalithic Monuments of Alcalar (Portimão).
The Algarve Museum Network stresses that all these structures “are reopening as cultural, inspiring and safe places”.
«It is with great pleasure that we witness the reopening and progressive re-establishment of the activities of the Museums and Monuments of the Algarve which, in safety and in preventive compliance with sanitary standards, will provide all visitors with a desirable, inspiring and more direct cultural proximity , historical and scientific».
“We wish all of us an intense and continued activity of promotion and enhancement of an entire local and regional heritage, sharing knowledge about the evolution and uniqueness of our communities, between past, present and future”, stresses the RMA.
