Monchique secures and pays transport for students from secondary school to Portimão

Face-to-face classes for 11th and 12th grade students resume tomorrow

The Municipality of Monchique announced that it will ensure and pay for the transport of students from the municipality to the Secondary Schools of Portimão, "following the start of classroom classes for 11th and 12th grade students", which will take place tomorrow, May 18th.

"The municipality, in partnership with the company Frota Azul, will ensure the transport of students to schools in Portimão", as well as "transport of students from rural areas to public transport stops, with the municipality bearing all expenses" , revealed the president Rui André.

The mayor of Monchique recalls that, «in public transport, it is mandatory to wear a mask and social distance, for the sake of the health of all of us. Only with everyone's understanding and collaboration will we be able to overcome this pandemic».

Rui André ends up making «vows of academic success to all our students, hoping that they will be able to overcome all the difficulties associated with the period we spent».

The municipality of Monchique does not have any secondary school, so students have to move to the neighboring municipality of Portimão to continue their studies.
