Loulé cancels the Romero Magalhães Research Award

Inaugural edition of the Award, referring to this year, is carried over to 2021

This year, the Loulé Council canceled the attribution of the Professor Joaquim Romero da Magalhães Research Award from the Al-Úlyá magazine. 

Thus, the inaugural edition of the Award, referring to this year, is carried over to 2021, maintaining the current application regulations.

This is a biennial award, created with the aim of rewarding the best research study on the Historical and Cultural Heritage of the municipality of Loulé in its different approaches, such as historical, archeological and ethnographic.

This is also intended to be a tribute to Joaquim Romero Magalhães, the distinguished professor and natural historian of Loulé, deceased in December 2018, author of a remarkable historical work, promoter and disseminator of the historical documentation of the Municipal Archive of Loulé.

On the other hand, it is part of the programming of this Archive and is part of the activities of the Al-'Ulyà magazine, a periodical research publication of interdisciplinary scientific and cultural dissemination, owned by the Municipality of Loulé, conceived for a segment of specialized audiences. and which has the particularity of attracting readers with a common interest in the study and knowledge of social sciences, humanities and historical and cultural heritage.

The award ceremony would take place in November, as part of the anniversary celebrations of Al-Úlyá magazine.
