Kitesurfer was the first to be rescued by the Salva-Vidas station in Quarteira

The man ended up not needing medical assistance

This Thursday, May 28th, at 16:20 pm, the Quarteira Salva-Vidas Station made its first rescue. It was a 46-year-old kite surfer who was drifting, for lack of wind, near Almargem beach. 

“The elements of the Quarteira Lifeguard Station, during a patrol action with the semi-rigid boat and the jet ski, detected a kite surfer in difficulties”, explains the National Maritime Authority.

Immediately, the person was rescued, «by jet skis, and the board and kite were towed, through the semi-rigid, to land».

The man ended up not needing medical assistance.º
