Young graduated from the University of Algarve wins national award

ATARP award aims to «distinguish, each year, the best research carried out by a final year student of the degree course in Medical Image and Radiotherapy»

Tiago Cabrita, graduated from the School of Health of the University of Algarve, won the 2nd edition of the ATARP – Portuguese Association of Technicians in Radiology, Radiotherapy and Nuclear Medicine Award.

This award aims to «distinguish, each year, the best research carried out by a final year student of the degree course in Medical Image and Radiotherapy», according to UAlg.

In 2020, the 31 members of the award's Scientific Committee, "formed by elements of exercise and academia", decided to award the award to Tiago Cabrita, for his work entitled "Dimensions and Volume of the Pituitary Gland and its correlation with Age and Gender (Magnetic Resonance Study)”.

The young UAlg graduate will receive a prize of 250 euros, "to which is added credit of the same amount in ATARP training (or partners) and the opportunity to present the work in the scientific program of the National Congress of Radiology 2020."

«After all the commitment and dedication I had throughout the Medical Imaging and Radiotherapy course, it is very gratifying to see my research work being recognized. This is proof that all the work and effort pays off», considered Tiago Cabrita, who praised ATARP's initiative, which, in his opinion, «allows recent graduates to publicize their work nationwide».
