The Chamber of Faro ceded a car to the Health Center and another to the Pinheiro e Rosa School Group to distribute food to the most needy students.
With this car, the objective is that the health professionals of the units of the Health Center of Faro have “another means of transport to provide home support to users of the municipality”.
In April, the municipality had already ceded to the Ossónoba Family Health Unit, to reinforce the home support service, four electric bikes – in a municipal investment of 4.515 euros – and another vehicle, also a light passenger car, for all units of the Health Center that provide home support to users, including the delivery of medication, change of dressings or monitoring of patients.
«It was a request made to us, in the various meetings we had in preparation for the process of decentralization of competences in the Health area, since the vehicles that previously existed for this type of home support had to be shared and many health professionals even used their own bicycles to make these home trips», explains Rogério Bacalhau, mayor of Faro.
As for the car ceded to the Pinheiro e Rosa School Group, it aims to support more peripheral schools, and is currently being used to distribute food to needy students who cannot travel to the cafeteria.
