«All were negative» the tests carried out by the Algarve Biomedical Center (ABC) to the users of the Lar de São Lourenço in Loulé and the workers of the Vilamoura Hotel Unit where part of the elderly and negative employees of the Lar de Boliqueime are located, where 37 cases have already been confirmed of the disease, revealed Vítor Aleixo, mayor of Loulé, in a post on Facebook.

However, yesterday, Friday, users and employees of the Santa Casa da Misericórdia in Castro Marim and the Support Center for the Elderly of Ferragudo, in Lagoa, were tested.

Thus, there are already 14 municipalities where the ABC carried out tests in nursing homes, as part of the Covid +70 project, which aims to carry out tests to Covid-19 in all nursing homes in the Algarve.

 




 

As of Thursday night, 2316 tests had been carried out on users and employees in 31 nursing homes in 12 municipalities in the Algarve, as revealed this Friday by Paulo Morgado, president of the Algarve Regional Health Administration (ARS), during the weekly press conference at the headquarters of the Regional Emergency and Civil Protection Command of the Algarve.

In this already vast universe, the only reviews that came out positive are the 37 related to Boliqueime's home, said the same person in charge.

Before the tests carried out today, ABC had already been in homes in Albufeira, Alcoutim, Faro, Lagos, Loulé, Monchique, Olhão, Portimão, São Brás de Alportel, Silves, Tavira and Vila Real de Santo António.

In Loulé, as Vítor Aleixo also reported, 464 tests have already been carried out in homes and the Algarve Biomedical Center team will visit the municipality again tomorrow, Sunday, this time at the Casa de Repouso in Quarteira.

In Castro Marim, today's tests were carried out “in conjunction with the Municipality's Civil Protection”.

According to the Chamber of Castro Marim, this regional effort being tested in homes – Covid 7+0 is the result of a partnership between ABC, the University of Algarve and the Ministry of Social Security – are joined by measures at the county level.
