First home tests for VRSA were negative, but more results are yet to be known

We still need to know the results of the second round of analyzes carried out

The first tests carried out on employees at the Santa Casa da Misericórdia home in Vila Real de Santo António "all turned out negative," a source from the Municipality's communication office told the Sul Informação.

However, the results of a second round of tests carried out yesterday afternoon on other employees and users of Lar Doutor Alonso Vasquez are still unknown, added the same source.

In addition, according to what our newspaper found, there are employees who will only take the tests tomorrow. All these people are in social isolation, waiting for tests or results.

It was in this institution managed by Santa Casa da Misericórdia that, a few days ago, a case of infection was confirmed, that of a maintenance employee.

In contact with the Sul Informação, Santa Casa claims that «the entire family [of the employee] was subjected to tests", which turned out to be "negative for Covid-19". He adds that the source for this information is “the employee himself, with whom we are in constant contact”.

For now, there are no situations of more infected people in the home, either among workers or among users, and the results of the remaining analyses are still awaited.
