Portimão has cultural and sporting proposals “for all tastes and ages” that can be enjoyed by the population from their homes.

At a time when a large part of the population is sheltered at home and there are strong restrictions on the movement and concentration of people, the Portimão municipal services "adjusted their schedule and keep some of the usual activities online", according to the Portimão City Council.

Under the motto “Portimão Stays at Home”, the municipality invites residents “to counteract the inertia resulting from the quarantine that they must respect, with emphasis on virtual visits to the Portimão Museum or to deepen their knowledge of books and writers at the Manuel Library Teixeira Gomes, not forgetting the possibility of practicing different sports without leaving home».

In the cultural field, the Portimão Museum «continues to exercise its activity in these adverse circumstances, in a creative and digital way, providing other forms and interaction strategies to fulfill its mission and objectives».

Adaptation to the pandemic was achieved "with the strengthening and centralization" of the offer of online content, through the online channel “The Museum at Home” and Facebook page of this cultural space.
