Heavy rain and thunderstorm put Algarve and Alentejo under yellow warning

Notice covers the districts of Faro, Beja and Évora

The Algarve and Alentejo will be under yellow warning, from the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA), due to heavy rainfall from 12:00 on this Wednesday, April 1st.

According to the IPMA, "downpours, which may be locally strong, hail and accompanied by thunderstorms" are foreseen.

The notice, which covers the districts of Faro, Beja and Évora, will be valid from 12:00 until 21:00 today, April 1st.

According to Meteofontes, today the maximum temperatures will be «around 13º in the Algarve» and «15ºC in the Alentejo».
