The Otorhinolaryngology Specialty College of the Medical Association has once again conferred training suitability on the Otorhinolaryngology Service (ORL) of the Hospital and University Center of the Algarve (CHUA), and this institution is now able to train doctors specializing in this area, the CHUA has just announced.
The formative capacity of the service was evaluated during a visit by a team from the Colégio da Especialidade, where the physical conditions, performance and results of the Algarve service were analysed.
“This evaluation resulted in the reestablishment of the training suitability of this specialty which, after more than 20 years, will once again be able to train intern physicians who choose ENT as their specialty” highlights the director of the service, Ilídio Gonçalves.
In addition to Otorhinolaryngologists, CHUA is currently able to train in its internal medical services in the specialties of Anesthesiology, Cardiology, General Surgery, Infectious Diseases, Gastroenterology, Gynecology/Obstetrics, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Intensive Medicine, Internal Medicine, Nephrology, Neurosurgery , Medical Oncology, Clinical Pathology, Pediatrics, Pulmonology, Psychiatry, Radiology, Rheumatology and Urology.
