Covid-19: Algarve has 42 cases, Alentejo has 5 and there are already 2060 across the country

Data from the DGS epidemiological bulletin this Monday, March 23

The number of confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the Algarve rose to 42 (7 more than yesterday), while in the Alentejo there are 5. There are already 2060 confirmed patients across the country (460 more), while the number of deaths has risen from 14 to 23. The data are from the epidemiological bulletin of the Directorate-General for Health, which has just been released.

Despite the large increase in the number of deaths – from 14 to 23 -, in the Algarve there is only one death, known already last Friday: that of an elderly person, in Albufeira.

The North is the area where there are more deaths (9). Lisbon has 8 and there are 5 deaths in the Center area.

 

 

Of the 2060 confirmed cases across the country, 201 are hospitalized, 47 of which are in intensive care, inspiring greater care. As for the good news, there are 14 recovered cases: 7 in the Centre, 4 in Lisbon and 3 in the North.

The number of infected continues to be higher in the North, already over a thousand (1007). It is followed by the Lisbon and Vale do Tejo area (737), the Center (238), the Algarve (42), Azores (11), Madeira (9) and Alentejo (5).

According to data from the DGS bulletin, there are 1402 cases awaiting laboratory results. Contacts under surveillance are from 11842.

Since January 1st, there have been, in our country, 13674 suspected cases, of which 10212 were negative.
