Covid-19: Algarve has 116 cases, Alentejo 45 and there are 6408 across the country

Data from the DGS epidemiological bulletin this Monday, the 30th

The Algarve has 116 cases of Covid-19, while the Alentejo registers 45. Across the country, the number of infected is 6408 and 140 deaths.

These are the latest data released by the Directorate-General for Health in its bulletin this Monday, 30 March.

Compared to yesterday's data from the DGS, the Algarve registers eight more cases, while the Alentejo has four more. Nationally, the number rose from 5962 to 6408 (another 446).

In this bulletin, the third death in the Algarve, which took place on Saturday, 28 March. The case of a person who has already recovered, residing in the municipality of Portimão, is also not yet reported.

 

 

The Algarve Regional Health Administration will release, this afternoon, the usual regional report with more up-to-date and detailed information on the origin of new cases.

As for the total number of deaths, nationally, it reached 140, 21 more than yesterday. The North is the region with the highest number of deaths (74), Center (34), Lisbon and Vale do Tejo (30) and Algarve (2).

The regional distribution of the 6408 cases is as follows: North (3801), Lisbon and Vale do Tejo (1577), Center (784), Algarve (116), Alentejo (45), Madeira (44) and Azores (41).

According to the DGS, there are 571 hospitalized, 164 of which are in intensive care, 26 more than yesterday.

The daily bulletin of the DGS also reveals that there are 4845 people waiting for laboratory results and 11.482 contacts under surveillance by the health authorities.

Since the start of the outbreak, there have been 44.206 suspected cases, of which 32.953 have not been confirmed. In total, 43 people have already been recovered, according to the DGS.
