Covid-19: Algarve has 108 cases, Alentejo 41 and there are 5962 across the country

Data from the DGS epidemiological bulletin this Sunday, the 29th

The Algarve has 108 cases of Covid-19, while the Alentejo registers 41. Across the country, the number of infected is 5962 and 119 deaths.

These are the latest data released by the Directorate-General for Health in its newsletter this Sunday, 29 March.

Compared to yesterday, the Algarve registers only two more cases, while the Alentejo has more than 7. At national level, the number rose from 5170 to 5962 (plus 792).

In this bulletin, a second death in the Algarve appears, although, like the Sul Informação reported, there have already been three deaths in the region.

Across the country there have been 43 recovered cases. Still, there is no case of the recovered in Portimão, which has already been confirmed by the Regional Health Administration (ARS) of the Algarve.

 

 

The ARS, moreover, will release, this afternoon, the usual regional report with more up-to-date and detailed information on the origin of new cases.

As for the total number of deaths, at national level, it reached 119. The North is the region with the highest number of deaths (61), followed by the Center and Lisbon and Vale do Tejo, both regions with 28.

The regional distribution of the 5962 cases is as follows: North (3550), Lisbon and Vale do Tejo (1478), Center (709), Algarve (108), Madeira (43), Alentejo (41) and Azores (33).

According to the DGS, there are 486 hospitalized, 138 of which are in intensive care, 49 more than yesterday.

The daily bulletin of the DGS also reveals that there are 5508 people waiting for laboratory results and 17.785 contacts under surveillance by the health authorities.

Since the start of the outbreak, there have been 38042 suspected cases, of which 26.572 have not been confirmed.
