Covid-19: Algarve has 106 cases, 34 in Alentejo, 5170 across the country

Data from the DGS epidemiological bulletin this Saturday, the 28th

The Algarve already has 106 cases of Covid-19, while the Alentejo registers 34. Across the country, the number of infected is 5170 and 100 deaths. 

These are the most recent data released by the Directorate-General for Health in its daily bulletin. Compared to yesterday, the Algarve registers 7 more cases, while the Alentejo has 4 more. At national level, the number rose from 4268 to 5170 (more 902).

In this bulletin, the second death in the Algarve, which took place in Portimão.

Regarding the number of cases per municipality in the Algarve, the DGS epidemiological bulletin does not bring major changes to the numbers released yesterday, so it is awaited the release of the report of the Regional Health Administration of the Algarve, with more updated and detailed information on the origin of the new cases, which is scheduled for this afternoon.

 

 

In today's DGS bulletin, for the first time foreigners were allocated to the regions they were in when they tested positive.

As for the total of deaths, at the national level, it reached the hundred (100). The North is the region with the highest number of deaths (44) and the Center has 28. As for Lisbon and Vale do Tejo it registers 27 and the Algarve 1.

The regional distribution of the 5170 cases is as follows: North (3035), Lisbon and Vale do Tejo (1287), Center (647), Algarve (106), Alentejo (34), Madeira (31) and Azores (30).

According to the DGS, there are 418 hospitalized, 89 of which in intensive care, inspiring greater care.

There are a total of 43 recovered cases – 17 in Lisbon, 16 in the North and 10 in the Center.

The daily bulletin of the DGS also reveals that there are 4938 people waiting for laboratory results and 19.927 contacts under surveillance by the health authorities.

Since the outbreak began on January 1, there have been 32.754 suspected cases, of which 22.646 have not been confirmed.
