The Algarve Football Association (AFA) has decided to conclude all district football and futsal competitions at the youth level due to the current Covid-19 pandemic.
This measure covers the categories of juniors, juveniles, beginners and children, since these are the categories «with formal competition».
The AFA also decided to end all activities of a playful nature in football and futsal, related to the age categories of benjamins, pesky and little ones.
“We believe that, being a very difficult decision to be taken, it is the appropriate decision to safeguard the health of the athletes, also meeting what is most correct for all clubs”, explains the Football Association.
The Portuguese Football Federation itself had already taken the same measure, when it comes to competitions at the training levels.
As far as the AFA is concerned, the question remains regarding the senior District Championships – football and futsal.
