The volunteer program of CNational Iberian Lynx Breeding Center (CNRLI), in Silves, has four vacancies open.

The program has a minimum duration of 3 months: from February to April.

Volunteering takes place in the area of ​​Ethology and Animal Behavior and all volunteers will have training in this field, adapted to the functioning and animals of the CNRLI.

“We are looking for people who are motivated and, ideally, educated in the natural sciences, interested in volunteering with the CNRLI in this interesting and important phase of the breeding season”, says the CNRLI.

This period is marked by the follow-up of the gestation of the breeding females, births and the neonatal period of the newborn offspring. At this point, it is possible to take place, still, some estrus and copulations, following the interesting behavioral range that exists in the social interactions between these cats.

Accommodation during this period will be provided free of charge at the CNRLI premises, with the possibility of receiving a food subsidy of 4.27 euros for each day worked.
