Show inspired by António Aleixo in Albufeira

Initiative supported by 365Algarve

“Diz-me António”, a show inspired by the universe of the popular poet António Aleixo, is scheduled to be screened on the 24th of January, at 21 pm, at the Albufeira Municipal Auditorium.

“Diz-me António” is a project that unites contemporary dance, music and the word, in what was a collective challenge to different areas of artistic intervention to pay homage to António Aleixo.

With artistic direction and interpretation by Armando Correia, Carolina Cantinho and Pedro Pinto, in a production by Rede Azul – Rede de Teatros do Algarve, the initiative has the support of the 365Algarve program.

«The poem, the body, the voice, the music, the audience, an audience that will be a voice, a body that will be a poem, a poem made into a region».

This is how the production defines the spectacle that integrates «movement, music and the word in search of a poetics of performance, in which three creators/interpreters come together to reflect on the Algarve poet».

The research and collection carried out underlines «it allowed us to know the two facets that merge Aleixo, the Poet and the man, António, through the actuality of his poetry – … this is today what was yesterday/And what will be tomorrow».

Tickets cost 5 euros and can be purchased at the City Council at the Consumer Information Center on weekdays from 9:00 am to 16:00 pm, and at the Municipal Auditorium on the day of the show, from 19:30 pm to 21:15 pm.
