Armindo Vicente is the new president of the Misericórdias Secretariat of Faro

There are currently 23 Misericórdias in the Algarve

Armindo Vicente took office last Saturday, January 25th, as the new president of the Regional Secretariat of Misericórdias of Faro, in a session that took place in Albufeira. The mandate is for the 2020-2023 triennium.

The current provider of the Santa Casa da Misericórdia in Vila do Bispo succeeds Patricia Seromenho, who is the provider of the Misericórdia of Albufeira and will now be part of the National Secretariat of the União de Misericórdias Portuguesas.

In the team of Armindo Vicente, who was part of the direction of Patrícia Seromenho, are also Rui Gingeira, secretary of the Misericórdia of Monchique, and Júlio Pereira, provider of the Santa Casa da Misericórdia of São Brás de Alportel.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by D. Manuel Neto Quintas, Bishop of the Algarve, and José Carlos Rolo, mayor of Albufeira.

There are currently 23 Misericórdias in the Algarve, the oldest founded in 1498. These institutions develop work both in the social and health areas.
