The best short films of the year from the festival “Shorcutz Amsterdam” will be screened next Monday, December 16, at ETIC_Algarve, in the Municipal Market building, from 14:00, with free entry.
«Every year, Shortcutz Amsterdam, as a festival with the biggest dimension, invites the other cities participating in the Shortcutz network to choose the best short film that was shown on the screens of the festival in the Dutch city. Thus, between December and January, more than 28 cities in Europe and the world are connected through the universal language of short cinema and Faro will be one of them», explains the Chamber of Faro.
The initiative is promoted by Shortcutz Faro, in partnership with ETIC_Algarve and the Municipality of Faro.
Shortcutz is an international network of film festivals, which allow the circulation of talent and short films. Founded in Lisbon in 2010, it has spread all over the world, reaching Faro 2014 the year.
According to the Faro local authority, the network has «the objective of giving a voice to the new talents of Portuguese cinema» and «with more than 50 sessions held in various locations in the Algarve capital, the Shortcutz Faro has regularly organized training sessions, debates and the Shortcutz contest. Faro Week", which "challenged secondary school students in the municipalities of Faro and Loulé creating a short film in a week. With 214 entries, 32 short films appeared that have already traveled to various festivals in the country».
