This was the first school of the merengue emblem at national level.

This week, Vila Real de Santo António City Council delivered new equipment to the Socio Sport School of the Real Madrid Foundation at the Ilídio Setúbal pavilion.

The initiative marked the integration of new students in this project, which currently has more than a hundred children aged between 6 and 13, divided into football classes (VRSA and Monte Gordo) and Basketball (VRSA and Vila Nova de Cacela parishes).

The activities are carried out twice a week, free of charge, and have the support of technicians with degrees in Physical Education and specialists in the teaching method recommended by the Real Madrid Foundation – learning through values.

This was the first school with the merengue emblem at national level, having been founded in 2011 through a protocol established with the Municipality of VRSA.

Throughout its operation, it has already trained half a thousand children, encouraging healthy ways of life and instilling in young people identified by partner entities values such as solidarity or team spirit.

Aiming at the integration of young people at risk, with learning difficulties or who are inserted in environments where it is not possible to practice sports, the school has developed an educational program in partnership with groups and municipalities, recording excellent results. proven in the field by the Madrid emblem.

The methodologies used aim to reward merit and take into account factors such as school grades, behavior, as well as the attendance of students to attend the Foundation's activities.
