Catching “A Onda” from Lagos is already cheaper

“A Onda” serves the entire municipality of Lagos, through 10 lines that pass either through the city center or through the most distant and inland parishes

“A Onda”, Lagos' urban transport network, has, since December 1st, new cheaper prices for regular monthly passes, student and pensioners.

This initiative applied tariff discount measures to users of the public urban transport service in Lagos – A ONDA, through which normal, senior and student passes now enjoy a 20% reduction compared to the table value.

Thus, the normal monthly pass goes from 28 euros to 22,40 euros and the pass for students and senior citizens goes from 16,90 euros to 13,44 euros.

The change follows the approval of the Tariff Reduction Support Program (PART), which allowed the execution of a financing program for the transport authorities for the development of actions that promote tariff reduction in public transport systems.

Through AMAL – the Algarve Intermunicipal Community, as the Transport Authority of its powers assigned and delegated by the municipalities, several inter-administrative contracts were signed, which allowed these reductions to be provided.

“A Onda” serves the entire municipality of Lagos, through 10 lines that pass either through the city center or through the most distant and inland parishes.

In 2010, this transport network, at the time only two years old, was ranked third in the 1st Edition of the “Prémio Accessibilidades à Transportes”, an initiative organized at national level by the Institute for Mobility and Land Transport (IMTT).
