The concert-performance “On the Road” (Pela Estrada Fora), by Tó Trips and Tiago Gomes, goes on tomorrow, Saturday, November 2, at 21 pm, on stage at the Centro Cultural de Lagos, closing another edition of the Verão Azul – International Festival of Arts.

It is the soundtrack that Tó Trips and Tiago Gomes found for the homonymous book by Jack Kerouac, a classic and icon of the beat generation.

But there is more in these last days of the Blue Summer: after her success in Loulé, Cátia Pinheiro presents in Lagos “The Walk#2”, an audio-path created specifically for the city and which proposes a reflection on the space we inhabit and the relationship we have with him.

On Friday and Saturday, 1st and 2nd November, the route starts at the Messe Militar de Lagos, at 15 pm. Departures will be individual from 00:15 to 00:16. The ticket (55€) must be purchased at the ticket office of the Centro Cultural de Lagos.

Raquel André came this year to Verão Azul in a double dose. The artist — after presenting “Collection of Artists” in Loulé, the third and most recent volume of her tetralogy entitled “Collection of People” — takes the “Collection of Lovers” to Lagos Cultural Center with a show about various encounters.

Between Portugal, Brazil, Poland, Chile, Norway, Argentina or Canada, Raquel André has already collected 230 lovers, people of different nationalities, genders and ages, who agreed to meet her and, in an hour, built a fictional, captured intimacy by memory and photographs. The show takes place at 21 pm.

Taking advantage of Raquel André's presence in Lagos, a masterclass free with the artist, about collecting in the performing arts. This initiative will take place at the Teatro Experimental de Lagos, on Saturday, November 2nd, from 10:30 am to 13:30 pm.

On the 2nd, after the show by Tó Trips and Tiago Gomes, Verão Azul invites the public to close the festival's ninth edition. From 23:00 pm, at LAC – Creative Arts Laboratory, the former Lagos jail, now a place of freedom and experimentation, the exhibition of the 2019 edition of the ARTUrb urban art project will be closed. The music will be in charge of DJ Micah.

Produced by the cultural association casaBranca, Verão Azul once again asserts itself as an event with unique characteristics in the region, dedicated to the promotion and dissemination of contemporary creation.

Since its first edition in 2011 in Lagos, the festival has also been extended to the eastern Algarve, attracting audiences and building partnerships with an increasing number of agents and institutions – highlighting the co-production partnerships with Cine-Teatro Louletano and Teatro das Figuras and the integration in the 365 Algarve program, an initiative of the Secretariats of State for Culture and Tourism, with funding from Turismo de Portugal.
