Poetry recital celebrates Sophia on the 100th anniversary of her birth

This initiative is part of the celebrations for the centenary of the poet's birth. 

A poetry recital by Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen, recited by Pedro Lamares. This is the proposal of the Municipal Library of Loulé for this Wednesday, November 6th, from 21 pm. 

Pedro Lamares was born in 1979. He studied theater at the Academia Contemporânea do Espetáculo. In theater, he worked more than a dozen authors. In cinema, he played the role of Fernando Pessoa in “O Filme do Desassossego”, by João Botelho, and participated in films by the directors Jorge Paixão da Costa, Vítor Gonçalves, Joaquim Leitão and António Pedro Vasconcelos.

On television, he presents the program “Literatura Aqui” (RTP2) where, with Filipa Leal, he chooses and records texts. He presented, with Mafalda Arnauth, two SPA galas (RTP2). He was part of the main cast of eight soap operas in Portugal (TVI) and one in Brazil (BANDEIRANTES / RTP1). Participated in several series of RTP.

In poetry, he dedicates himself to the choice of texts and reading in recitals and literary cycles. Participated in more than a dozen literary festivals, national and international. He directs theater, music and poetry shows. He created several solo projects and with musicians, which he remains on tour. He is a teacher in theater schools and a trainer in the field of communication. He directed two youth theater groups.

He gives lectures for teachers ('Desarrumar o Silêncio'). He recorded with João Grosso the texts on the CD supporting the Raiz Editores school manual. He is artistic director of the Casca de Noz cooperative.

November 6, 1919 was the day Sophia, the greatest name in Portuguese literature, was born. This initiative is part of the celebrations for the centenary of the poet's birth.
