There are already 4000 volunteers registered for Operation Montanha Verde

You can still sign up, but only for Sunday, November 10th

There are already 4000 volunteers registered for Operation Montanha Verde 2019, including residents and foreigners, teachers and students, which will take place on 10 and 11 November, in eight Algarve municipalities, to plant 42 trees of indigenous species.

In this 4th edition, there will be eight municipalities – São Brás de Alportel, Tavira, Olhão, Lagoa, Portimão, Monchique, Loulé and Silves – and 11 lands will host (between 9 and 12:30) this «extraordinary collective effort in favor of reforestation of our region, which has been a victim over the years of the terrible fires that leave such painful marks», stresses Zoomarine, which promotes the initiative.

"But, with the help of various entities and countless volunteers, we will again fight against such losses."

Operation Montanha Verde 2019 is promoted by Zoomarine, within the scope of its philosophy Together We Protect (Together Protegemos) and has the support of several entities, namely, the Algarve Tourism Region, Algar SA (Nutriverde), Águas do Algarve, Vila Vita Parc Resort & Spa, Horto Alegria do Norte, GolfeJardim , the Regional Directorate for Nature and Forest Conservation of the Algarve and the Order of Biologists.

Because it is a dynamic pro bono, Operation Montanha Verde has, once again, the High Sponsorship of the President of the Republic.

Registration is still open (by clicking here) but only for the 10th of November (Sunday), and are essential for the purposes of insurance for participation and complex logistics (meals, instruments, gloves, etc). And, of course, they're free.

Operation Montanha Verde will take place in São Brás de Alportel, Tavira, Olhão, Lagoa, Portimão, Monchique, Loulé and Silves, thanks to the strong commitment of these eight Algarve municipalities to good environmental and sustainability values.
