The XII Feira da Perdiz takes place this weekend, November 9th, 10th, at the Pavilhão José Rosa Pereira, in Martim Longo, Alcoutim municipality.
In the fairground, where companies and associations of the sector will be present, there will be a wide range of activities such as falconry, folklore, exhibitions of game species, competitions, greyhound racing, presentation of the Smuggler's “Mata-Bicho” cocktail, among others.
In the taverns it will be possible to taste several typical dishes of the region's gastronomy at this time of year, with emphasis on game-based dishes.
The program of the event also includes musical entertainment that on Saturday will be in charge of the artist “Rui Bandeira” with a show scheduled for 22:00, and on Sunday it will feature the performance of “Somos do Alentejo”, at 17:30.
With a diversified program, the event will also have space for debate with the holding, from 14:30 pm on Saturday, of the colloquium “Vida Selvagem e Caça”.
The program will present two sporting events: on the 10th, the 2nd Trail “On the route of the partridge” and, on the same day, the Marcha Corrida event, and this year the organization of the events for environmental reasons is committed to eliminating the delivery of bottles plastic.
Athletes must fill their tanks in the supply zones or, alternatively, drink on the spot.
It should be noted that the name of the fair, dedicated to hunting in general, is simultaneously a tribute to the queen of the smaller game that is particularly common in this region: the red partridge.
