Dunas Douradas Beach Club, located in Praia do Garrão, Almancil, won the “World's Leading Golf & Villa Resort” award at the World Travel Awards 2019, considered the best oscar tourism, whose gala this year took place at the Royal Opera House Muscat, in the Sultanate of Oman.
The 5-star tourist village in the Algarve received one of 13 worldwide distinctions for Portugal, which included the Best Destination in the World and Best National Tourism Entity, awarded to Turismo de Portugal.
The Dunas Douradas resort emphasizes that the prize awarded to it “brings together two of the segments that the region has been working for decades to become its hallmarks: excellence in hospitality and golf”.
For Sílvia Biscaia, general director of the Dunas Douradas Beach Club village, this award “is a recognition of the constant effort we make to maintain high standards of quality and excellence, always focused on improving the experience of our guests”.
«Seeing our village being distinguished at the same gala in which Portugal is distinguished as the Best Destination in the World makes us believe that we are all on the right path. This growth in tourism in Portugal is the result of the synergies that were created between public institutions and private investment, which made us align joint strategies in favor of an investment in the country's economic growth”, he added.
For her, the main reason for this distinction «centers on the excellent location of the village, consisting of 140 luxurious accommodation units, where comfort, sophistication and security form a winning triumvirate».
Dunas Douradas Beach Club is located «right in the heart of the Golden Triangle (Quinta do Lago-Vale do Lobo-Almancil)» and is «a short distance from the most renowned golf courses in the Algarve, with which it has a partnership, offering thus a privileged access to lovers of this modality».
