Tavira hosts ecumenical prayer on October 5th

Catholics and Eastern Rite Christians come together to pray

The Parish of Tavira will host, on Saturday, October 5th, at 21 pm, in the Church of S. Francisco, an ecumenical celebration, whose central theme will be “Praise and Bendizei”.

This meeting of prayer and reflection will be held to mark the day on which St. Francis is celebrated (October 4th) and will bring together Eastern Rite Christians, with the presence of Father Oleg Trushko, chaplain of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Community. Christians from the Anglican community were also invited to join this moment.

“The action responds to the challenge of Pope Francis to carry out a month of prayer for Creation, in order to sensitize all Catholics to the need to respect and care for the planet,” explains the Parish of Tavira.
