Field trip, lecture and tasting show Pero Vicente's chambers of fear

There is a research project at the University of Coimbra that intends to discover new uses for these berries.

The camarinhas, that translucent white berry that can be picked from the bushes of the fears da Costa Sudoeste, is the theme of a field trip, a lecture, with a tasting of jam and shrimp liqueurs, an initiative scheduled for Saturday, October 5th, at 15:30 pm, at Thursday Pero Vicente, at Rogil (Aljezur).

Aida Moreira da Silva, coordinator of IDEAS4life research project, of the University of Coimbra, will be the guide this field trip with the theme “Camarinhas, the treasure of fears”.

These sweet and sour white berries, which many bring back childhood memories, are now being (re)discovered through chemistry, due to their health-beneficial potential. The participants, after seeing them and tasting them in the fears from Pero Vicente, they will then be able to taste jams and spirits, made with these «tears of Queen Santa Isabel».

Participation in the activity is free but subject to prior registration (with a maximum limit). Registration can be made by calling 962416885 or by email [email protected] .
