Portimão is the stage for a solidary walk of the Portuguese League Against Cancer

Registration costs 5 euros

A solidarity walk of the Portuguese League Against Cancer takes place on the 20th of October, from 10:00 am, and will connect Alvor to Prainha, in Portimão.

This initiative serves "to mark the month of Prevention of Breast Cancer, raising awareness of the importance of early detection of this disease, from which about six thousand new cases appear every year."

Under the motto “Prevention Touches Everyone”, the participants are concentrated in the Sports Complex of Alvor, from where they will depart at around 10:00 am towards Prainha. 6 kilometer journey.

Entries must be made on here, until the 17th of October.

Participation costs 5 euros, entitles you to a bottle of water and a t-shirt to wear on the day of the hike. Interested parties may also register on the day of the initiative, in which case the stock of water and t-shirts is not guaranteed.

The kits can be picked up at the Pavilhão Gimnodesportivo de Portimão (16th, 17th and 18th, between 10:00 am and 19:00 pm) or at the Alvor Sports Complex (16, 17 and 18th between 10:00 am and 19:00 pm, on the 19th between 9:00 am and 13:00 pm and on the 20th until the beginning of the walk).

Inserted in the calendar of events taking place in the Algarve under the National March and Run Program of the Portuguese Institute of Sport and Youth, this walk of prevention and awareness is part of the events that mark the international month of breast cancer throughout October and is included in the Vencer e Viver Movement, with the support of the Portimão City Council, Blueticket and Águas do Vimeiro.
