Portimão hosts first Iberian conference on Sport Management

Event takes place in the scope of Portimão – European City of Sport

The first Iberian conference on Sport Management will take place on the 17th of October, from 14:30 pm, at the Museu de Portimão. 

This event, which counts on the participation of specialists from the Universidad de Huelva, the Lusófona University of Humanities and Technologies, and the Higher Institute of Work and Business Sciences / University Institute of Lisbon, is intended to be a first moment of reflection on the themes of Sports Practice, Sports Training, New Sports Models, and Sports Management and Marketing.

All lecturers are university professors with international reputation, who meet in Portimão at the invitation of the Instituto Superior Manuel Teixeira Gomes (ISMAT), an entity that intends to stimulate research and discussion in the area of ​​Sports Science.

Speakers will be Manuel Abad Robles (University of Huelva), who will speak on "Functional Diversity and Sports Practice", Francisco Javier Fuentes-Guerra (University of Huelva), who will address the “New Sport Models: Present and Future Challenges”, Jorge Proença (professor at the Lusófona University of Humanities and Technologies), who will lecture on “Determining Factors of Performance in Sports Training”, and Pedro Dionísio, pprofessor at ISCTE who had focused on “Trends in Sports Management and Marketing”.

The conference is certified by ISMAT as a short-term training action, in the scientific and pedagogical dimension, for Physical Education teachers from groups 260 and 620 of Basic and Secondary Education.

The sessions included in the program will be moderated by Carlos López-Cano Vieira and Ricardo Oliveira, both professors at ISMAT.

The event is aimed at professionals in the field of Sports, Physical Education and Sports teachers, coach, local sports technicians, managers of sports entities and journalists.
