The International Multisport Games, in the modalities of bocce, tricycle and wheelchair slalom, start this Thursday, 3 September, in Portimão (the European City of Sport) and Lagos.

The event, which will run until Sunday, the 6th, will bring together participants from Portugal and Spain.

The opening ceremony will take place from 17:30 pm on October 4th at Portimão Arena, with the presence of the Portuguese and Spanish delegations, and the presidents of Cerebral Palsy – National Sports Association (PCAND), of the Portuguese Federation of Sports for People with Disability (FPDPD), by the Spanish counterpart and the Municipalities of Lagos and Portimão, among others.

This day will be open to students and users of schools and institutions who wish to try the available sports in Portimão Arena, as well as to all interested people.

The Spanish delegation, made up of 18 elements and led by the president of the respective Federation, will participate with one athlete in the tricycle sport and seven in wheelchair slalom, a specialty in which the Spaniards dominate the competitive framework.

As for Portugal, it will be represented by five athletes on tricycles and nine in wheelchair slalom, while the bocce modality will have two levels, under-21 and under-15, with only Portuguese athletes.

Aimed at people with cerebral palsy and other motor disabilities with a strong impact on mobility and autonomy, in particular younger people, the initiative will take place on October 5th at the Lagos athletics track (tricycle) and at Portimão Arena (slalom in a chair. wheels and bocce), between 10:00 and 12:00 and from 14:00 to 16:30.

On the 6th, only the bocce discipline will be disputed, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, at Portimão Arena.

The initiative is part of PCAND's development plan for the three sports, which are still little known among us, providing participants with an excellent opportunity to compete internationally and share knowledge through workshops.

On Saturday, October 5th, the awards ceremony for wheelchair and tricycle slalom sports is scheduled for 18:30 pm at Portimão Arena, with the closing ceremony of CIPSRA – International Multisport Games scheduled for 12:30 pm the following day, at same location.

The CPISRA are organized by PCAND, in partnership with the Municipal Councils of Portimão and Lagos, with the support of the Portuguese Institute of Sport and Youth and the FPDPD.
