Chega was the “winner” in the Algarve of the three new parties in Parliament

Legislatives took place this Sunday, October 6, and had a record of abstention: 45,50%

Of the three new parties that entered the Assembly of the Republic, Chega, on the far right, had the most votes in the Algarve, ahead of Livre and Iniciativa Liberal. 

These three political forces managed to elect one deputy each: André Ventura (Enough), Joacine Katar Moreira (Livre) and João Cotrim de Figueiredo (Liberal Initiative). All for the constituency of Lisbon.

However, in the Algarve, among these three parties, Chega was the one that got the most votes: 3690, which is equivalent to 2,14%. Then there was the Livre, with 1704 votes, corresponding to a percentage of 0,99%.

The Liberal Initiative was the one that got the fewest votes (1424), equivalent to 0,82%.

Even so, none of these political forces elected a deputy for the Algarve. The places algarvians in the Assembly of the Republic they were distributed by the PS (5), PSD (3) and Left Block (1).
