80 kayakers compete for the 3rd International Ascent of the Rio Mira

Test will have 30 kilometers

80 canoeists, representing 20 teams, will compete on the 12th of October in the 3rd edition of the Rio Mira International Rise in K4, between Vila Nova de Milfontes and Odemira, over a distance of 30 kilometers.

The race will start at Praia da Franquia, in Vila Nova de Milfontes, and the briefing with all participants is scheduled for 11:00 and the departure for 12:00. The arrival of the first vessels in Odemira is scheduled for 13:45 pm.

The event will be organized by the Municipality of Odemira, Clube Fluvial Odemirense, Clube Náutico de Milfontes, Clube Náutico do Litoral Alentejano and the Portuguese Canoeing Federation, with the support of the Parish Councils of Vila Nova de Milfontes and Santa Maria and S. Salvador.

The competition will have monetary prizes totaling 2.600 euros, with prizes being awarded to the first female and male boat in the flying goal, at 13 kilometers, and to the first five male and female boats to reach Odemira.

The organization intends to make this regatta a mark in terms of canoeing in Portugal, due to the beauty that the Mira river offers along the 30 kilometers but also for the race itself, being a fast competition, carried out in favor of the current.
