Reinaldo Teixeira represents the Algarve at the CPLP Business Confederation

Algarve's participation brings more "notoriety" to the region

The Algarve businessman Reinaldo Teixeira, director of the Garvetur/Enolagest Group, took office this Tuesday, in Vilamoura, as a delegate of the Entrepreneurial Confederation of the Community of Portuguese Language Countries (CE-CPLP), on behalf of the Southern Portugal Branch .

The session was attended by Salimo Abdula and José Medina Lobato, respectively chairman of the Board (Mozambique) and Secretary General (Guinea-Bissau) of that body. Rui Mateus, from Garvetur's management, was also elected as deputy delegate.

The official ceremony was preceded by a lunch that was attended by Vitor Aleixo, Mayor of Loulé, João Fernandes, President of Algarve Tourism, and Telmo Pinto, President of the Parish Council of Quarteira.

The delegation that traveled to the Algarve also included other directors of the confederation of entrepreneurs from the vast community of countries that make up the CPLP, namely Eliseu Gaspar (Angola) and George Teixeira Pinheiro (Brazil) from the board, as well as members of the general assembly and the commission executive.

Highlight for the presence of Maria da Assunção Abdula and Nelma Pontes Fernandes, president and vice president of the Federation of Women Entrepreneurs and Entrepreneurs of CE CPLP.

After the inauguration ceremony, the delegation headed to Albufeira, where a dinner was held, presided over by José Carlos Rolo, president of the municipality of Albufeira, with the board meeting and the CE CPLP general meeting taking place in this council.

On the occasion, Reinaldo Teixeira highlighted that «participation in the CE CPLP will bring more notoriety to the region and encourage the sharing of investments and new business opportunities between entrepreneurs from the South and the confederation's members».

For the businessman, «mobility between countries will also encourage tourism in the Algarve, will boost business and contribute positively to the southern economy, and consequently to the country».

The next initiative of the EC-CPLP is the meeting of ministers and secretaries of State for Tourism of the CPLP, which takes place from 13 to 15 November in Ilha do Fogo, in Cape Verde.

“Mobility and connectivity are fundamental for tourism. This is the main motto of our presidency and we are going to follow up», referred Salimo Abdula, president of the Confederation's direction.

​Through the organizations in which its member countries are represented, the CE-CPLP is a comprehensive community that brings together 86 countries located on four continents (Africa, America, Asia and Europe).

The purpose of CE-CPLP is to develop cooperation between business associations and companies from the Community of Portuguese-speaking Countries, in order to create conditions for business development within the economic spaces where the countries of the Portuguese-speaking community are located. .

The main objective of the Confederation is to facilitate and strengthen relations between associations and business entities, promoting business, imports and exports, encouraging cooperation and partnerships that enable the increase in trade and the deepening of trade routes.
