The PSD considers that the PS made a "rude staging" during António Costa's visit to the Algarve, defining the Central Hospital as "a challenge for the next four years" when, in April of this year, "in the stability and growth delivered to the European Commission, five hospitals are registered [to be built] and the Algarve is not one of them».

The Social Democrats say that “it is not honest to confuse people” when “the PS's commitment – public and notorious – is not to build the hospital”.

The PSD recalls that "although it was considered the second priority at the national level", the non-inclusion of the construction of the Hospital Central do Algarve in the stability and growth program is "a decision that undermines the interests of the region and violated the technical study on which it was based. the country's decisions in this field. It cannot be said that health is a priority and act like this».

The PSD Algarve «understands the new hospital as vital, a necessary and not sufficient condition for us to significantly improve our health and advance in the establishment of doctors in the region».

The Social Democrats also emphasize, in a note sent to newsrooms, that “with record waiting times for surgeries and consultations, the right to health often does not exist. Those who have money still go to the private sector, those who don't are defenseless».
