International Six Days Enduro 2019 presented at the start of the SBK at the Autodromo

The race will bring more than 500 riders from all over Europe to the Algarve circuit

With 64 days left before the start of the 94th edition of the International Six Days Enduro, which will be based at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve, between the 11th and 16th of November, it was on the Algarve circuit that the race was presented.

The presentation was attended by the president of the International Motorcycling Federation, the mayor of Portimão, Isilda Gomes, Manuel Marinheiro, president of the Portuguese Motorcycling Federation, as well as André Gomes from the Algarve Tourism Region, and Paulo Pinheiro, the CEO of Parkalgar, owner of the circuit that will host and organize the race.

For the third time, Portugal will host the oldest competition under the aegis of the International Motorcycling Federation – Coimbra in 1999 and Figueira da Foz in 2009 have already hosted the competition – the first being with the Portuguese Jorge Viegas in the presidency of the FIM.

«For me, as an Algarvian, it is naturally a reason to be proud to be able to host ISDE in Portugal again. The Algarve has excellent conditions to receive the ISDE and we will certainly have an unforgettable race, which has all the potential to take the place of the ISDE of Figueira da Foz, as the best race ever. The Autódromo do Algarve is the perfect place to host the entire structure of the event», said Jorge Viegas.

With more than 750 registered riders from 26 different countries, the 2019 edition of the International Six Days Enduro promises to be the best ever, being almost certainly the most participated in the history of the competition.

«We continue to receive registration requests daily», revealed Paulo Pinheiro, who also reinforced the importance of an event with this dimension and nature for the circuit: «it is totally different from those we usually organize, but also an immense challenge. At the moment we have about 40 people working full time, in a process that began precisely a year ago and will culminate in more than 500 people involved in the event during the days of its realization».

European City of Sport in 2019, Portimão will also enter ISDE's history, by hosting the world's biggest motorcycling event that takes around 10.000 people directly connected to the competition – riders, teams, family members, companions, sponsors – who will be joined by several thousand followers, who will come to the Algarve to support their national teams, where Portugal will be represented with Senior, Junior and Women teams.
