The Algarve Nature Fest is almost there

Hiking, guided bike tours, stand up paddle and even a kayak tour. The Algarve Nature Fest is almost there, an event that takes place on the 21st and 22nd of September, at Passeio Ribeirinho de Olhão.

Anyone who has not booked the experiences yet, should hurry to do so here because many are already sold out.

Hiking and guided bicycle tours are the pre-registration mandatory activities still available at this time, among the 30+ free ones scheduled.

In addition to these, visitors to the enclosure can venture daily on the slide, on a climbing wall, on mechanical surfing, on the Stand up paddle, archery, kayaking, segway, mountain biking or riding on electric bicycles, all permanently on site, between 09 am and 00 pm, no reservation required. For more energetic tastes, there will be air bungee and pump, zumba, step and SFXCore classes.

The official inauguration of the Algarve Nature Fest takes place, however, on 20 September, the day reserved for students from secondary schools in Olhão, who will, for example, be challenged to climb aboard a boat to put their eyes on the birds flying over the Ria Formosa or doing sailing and diving baptisms with local tourist entertainment companies.

This moment has the support of the Services Department of the Algarve Region of the General Directorate of School Establishments, which will help prepare the field trips of around 300 students from the State of Olho.

A special action is also aimed at this student population, which will raise awareness of the importance of preserving and correctly enjoying the Algarve's natural heritage. As part of the project «SustenTUR Algarve – preservation of the natural and cultural heritage of the Algarve region», an operation that is a candidate for the Sustainability Support Line of the Valorizar do Turismo de Portugal Program, the initiative will transmit to the youngest the values ​​of conservation of biological diversity and landscape of the region.

Organized by the Algarve Tourism Region in partnership with the Municipality of Olhão, the Algarve Region Services Directorate of the General Directorate of Schools and the Public Security Police, the festival has the support of CP – Comboios de Portugal, Inframoura, Decathlon, the Gymnasium group, Águas do Algarve and Real Marina Hotel & Spa.
