Portimão will host, next Saturday, September 28, the national celebrations of the European Physical Education Teacher's Day, within the scope of the 5th European Week of #Beactive Sport.
The day's program opens with a boat trip along the coast, between 10:00 am and 12:00 pm, departing from the Marina de Portimão, in which a hundred Physical Education teachers from all over the country will participate, who will have the opportunity to carry out activities on board the vessel.
In the afternoon, at 15:00 pm, Casa Manuel Teixeira Gomes will stage the ceremony to honor well-known Physical Education teachers, proposed by the various regional structures of the Association of Physical Education and Sport Professionals (APEF), with the presentation of the Associated de Merit, under the motto “There is no education without physical education”.
Finally, Aguahotels Riverside, located in Parchal, in the neighboring municipality of Lagoa, will host, from 21 pm onwards, the open talk “The importance of Physical Education at School”.
Taking advantage of the presence in the Algarve of a set of reference Physical Education teachers from all over the country, as well as several former teachers, the meeting aims to provide a reflection among members of the same class on the importance of Physical Education at School.
The celebration of the European Physical Education Teacher's Day is organized by the National Council of Associations of Physical Education and Sport Professionals, with the support of the Portuguese Institute of Sport and Youth and the Municipality of Portimão, within the scope of the European City of Sport 2019 .
