The first week of the month is enriched with the 28th Portimão International Rhythmic Gymnastics Tournament, which ends today, September 4, and whets the appetite for the already traditional Portuguese stage of the Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup, bringing together the best in Portimão Arena gymnasts between 6 and 8 September.

Now in its 28th edition, the Portimão International Tournament, aimed at younger gymnasts, will feature 21 juniors and 15 seniors in the individual competition, with the participation of the junior group from Great Britain being eagerly awaited.

This Wednesday, the 4th, all the finals will take place, starting at 15:30 pm, extending the program until 20:00 pm, with the protocol ceremonies.

But the highlight will be the last stage of the World Cup, in which from 6th to 8th September Portimão Arena receives over 120 gymnasts, representing 15 countries in the sets and 22 countries in the individual competition. Remember that the World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championship is scheduled for Baku, in Azerbaijan, from the 16th to the 22nd of the same month.

Also this week, the R10 Street Futsal, taking place from the 4th to the 8th of September at Praça da República, will feature Ricardinho, the best player in the world, who will be present on the final day of the competition.

At the inauguration, scheduled for 18:00 on the 4th, all teams and clubs registered will be present, with the competition taking place in the 10-13 age group, 14-17 years old and over 18 years old. On the closing day, at 18 pm, the inclusive action “Projeto Futsal para Todos” will take place, especially aimed at people with special needs, who will be able to interact with Ricardinho and other participants in R00 Street Futsal.

Another unavoidable suggestion for lovers of high competition sport will be the Portuguese stage of the Superbike World Championship, which between the 5th and the 8th will attract around 60 spectators to the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve to cheer with the fastest riders on the international circuit .

It is also in the Algarve that the final of the National Triplet Championship – Men will be held in Petanca (7th to 8th September in the riverside area of ​​Portimão), the Portuguese Cup of Sailing Schools (5th to 8th next to the Clube Naval de Portimão), the National Absolute and Women's Chess Championship (7 to 15 at the Municipal Theater of Portimão) and the 2nd Aquathlo O2, part of the Algarve Road Circuit of the Portuguese Triathlon Federation (on the 8th at Praia da Restinga/ Ria de Alvor).

In turn, between 7 and 9 September, the Praia da Rocha Sports Area will host the Beactive Beach Games Portimão 2019, whose first edition took place in Riga, capital of Latvia, last August, passing through other European cities until reaching Portugal.

The recipients are families from the European countries participating in the project (Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, Spain, Germany, Denmark and Portugal), totaling close to 500 people, who can be joined by local participants or vacationers on vacation in Portimão, if available. activities such as 3×3 basketball, duathlon, beach soccer, frisbee, beach tennis, beach volleyball, surf, bodyboard, skimboard, petanque, hip-hop, zumba, fitness, Tai Chiyoga running, capoeira, kayak, snorkling, sup, swimming ou racquetball.

In the area of ​​training, the highlighted event will be the 6th Alvor Judo Camp, which will have the participation of around 200 athletes from Portuguese, English, Spanish and Chilean clubs, with the presence of several high-level coaches/coaches to be highlighted. This international internship takes place between the 4th and the 8th of September at the Pavilhão de Montes de Alvor.
